Trade Minister visits foreign lands for trade promotion

Indonesia's trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu and business team are scheduled to visit Canada and the US to promot export and attract their investment.
Trade Minister will meet Canadian International Trade Minister to increase trade and have a discussion on Free Trade Area (FTA) issue.
They are later scheduled to visit Vancouver port to observe the single window entry system.
Indonesian Trade Minister informed that they would not be emphasising on FTA issue but would put more stress on trade relations under the (Trade and Investment Fascilitation Agreement (TIFA) and the Trade and Investment Council (TIC).
In the United States, the team is schduled to visit Washington, New York and Chicago.
The team will meet US Trade Representative (USTR) Robert Portman, Trade Secretary Carlos M Guterrez and Deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick, in Washington.
She will also hold talks with executives of the US-ASEAN Business Council, the US Chamber of Commerce, as well as the representatives of World Bank and Institute of International Economy.
She will speak at an international conference on the World Trade Organization (WTO) organized by Columbia University in Washington on April 6.
Mari Elka Pangestu will deliver a speech before members of the US Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the procedures and regulations for US businessmen who will carry out trade activities and make investment in Indonesia.
