Good news for clothing and textile exporters is that Duty Credit Certification Scheme (DCCS) will renewed for two years.

In this scheme credits earned in the year April 2005 to March 2006 will be fully tradable, but those earned in the year April 2006 to March 2007 will be tradable only among manufacturers.

Under the terms of the scheme, exporters get a duty credit of R25 for every R100 worth of goods they export.

Renewal of the scheme brought major relief to exporters as they were rely solely on verbal commitments from the government since the expiry of the DCCS on March 31, 2005.

Major exporters of the country have also welcomed government decision.

According to them, renewal of the scheme will enable them to export more than earlier.
