New technology can step up textile production, says PM

From agricultural economy, Pakistan is switching its spotlight to industrial economy and production of high-value added goods; for this the country needs to stress on the use of innovative technologies, said Shaukat Aziz, Prime Minister.

This technological advancement would improve productivity and competitiveness of products, added Aziz.

Moreover, government is ready to impart skills to workers and for this it has established Technical and Vocational Training Authority.

Also, the government has been investing in development of human capital to build a knowledge-based economy and to create the core competence required for our industrial growth.

Government is establishing industrial parks and textile and garment cities, which will immensely contribute to better production and sudden increase in the country's exports.

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is expected to be a record $3 billion this year.
