CM Narendra Modi wants more SEZs in Gujarat

Textile industry of Gujarat will provide farm, fabric, fibre and fashion to foreign countries, says Narendra Modi, Chief Minister of the State.

For this, Modi wants Gujarat to turn out as Special Economic Zone (SEZ) capital very soon.

In his speech at the 'Annual Session & Gujarat Economic Summit — Managing Growth' organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the CM said there are around 11 SEZs in Gujarat and the State is planning to develop more by investing thousands of crore.

Modi stated that Gujarat would achieve highest export and production figures.

About agro business, Modi said the State would establish 'Agro Export Zone' with SEZ, warehouse and a port in the coastal area to capture global market.

He also added that three years back, Gujarat was exporting agro products worth of Rs9,000 crore that has increased to Rs25,000 crore and by next fiscal, it would be around Rs28,000 crore.
