The Economic Association of Indonesia and India (ECAII) is willing to help Indonesian Government to encourage investments in its textile industry, informs an association spokesperson.

Textile industry of Indonesia earned foreign exchange for the country and employed around 2 million workers, says Marzuki Usman Chairman ECAII.

He opined that investors were reluctant to invest in textile sector.

Indian businessmen conducting business in Indonesia sought textile industry to perform better, and were not ready to shift to Egypt, Vietnam or Bangladesh, he said.

ECAII should propose Indonesian banks to provide special interest rates to garment companies.

ECAII is made up of 71 companies owned by Indian nationals and companies owned by Indonesian citizens of Indian origin.
