Textile Ministry proposes to abolish duty on chemicals

In yet another move to support the textile industry, the Textile Minister, Mushtaq Cheema informs of a proposal to abolish duty on raw material of chemicals.
The proposal has been forwarded to the Ministry of Finance.
He acknowledged the fact that incidence of high duty was indeed regressive in nature for the growth ahead of this sector.
Apart from this, his Ministry has also raised a proposal to eliminate duty on the textile machinery and spare-part imports in order to ensure quality production within the country.
