New import & export procedures regulated
19 Apr '06
1 min read
The Ministry of Trade has put down procedures for regulating import export activities in a circular released recently.
The circular states that as of May 1, 2006, just eight product categories will have to acquire licenses from Ministry of Trade for import or export.
As far as export is concerned, apparel export to the US will henceforth be as per quota volume allocated to garment producers.
Export of apparel products to other markets will not have any restriction and can be exported to countries as per orders placed.
Regarding imports, Ministry of Trade proposes to have a strict control over import of products that may cause damage or affect ozone layer.
