Pakistan Government is working closely towards bringing about white revolution by developing dairy and live stock sectors to achieve this objective, stated President General Pervez Musharraf.
Inaugurating the first high-tech Hydro Ponix Green House near Mandra, the President underlined the need for adopting modern ways for the development of horticulture and boosting agriculture productivity to remove poverty.
System sets great example for others to imitate as it offers vast opportunities for development as the country's climate is favorable for such project, he added.
He stressed that farming society and institutions should garner maximum benefit from the potential of Hydroponix green house.
He noted that majority of population depends depends on the agriculture sector for their livelihood and is a vital part of thecountry's economy.
Government is developing important engineering industry steadily in its place rather than relying on textile and agriculture, he remarked.
He stated that government wants to increase the income of farming community through crops and is possible only if production is enhanced.
Minister for agriculture Sikandar Hayat Bosan also spoke on the occasion.
