In a bid to discourage smuggling of textile materials and support local manufacturers, North-west zone of the Nigeria Customs Service has destroyed smuggled textile materials worth N129 million seized between January and March this year in Kaduna.
Nearly 1284 bales and 30 rolls were set on fire following orders issued by Federal Government, a representative of Customs Department said.
Similarly, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Nasir El-Rufa'i, appealed to the public to encourage local manufacturers.
