Government has announced to set up 25 textile parks across the country to strengthen domestic competitiveness.
Government is also planning to rationalize excise duty structure and remove infrastructure barriers, said Textiles Minister Shankersinh Vaghela while inaugurating the International Fashion Technology Forum organised by NIFT.
After the end of quota regime, Indian textile and apparel sector eligible to become second largest beneficiary, he added.
Vaghela also said that various surveys indicate that Indian textile and apparel sector has the potential to grow to $85 billion by next year.
