Contract worth $4,691,9bln to build 242 facilities inked

Contracts worth US $4,691,9 billion were inked between foreign companies and ministries and establishments of the country, to build 242 facilities (181 facility as of April 1, 2005) as of April 1, 2006.
About 20 contracts worth $196,3 million were signed during first quarter of 2006, reports a statistical agency.
Production sector projects outlay amounted to 58.7 percent ($2,754,4 billion) of the project cost being implemented jointly with foreign partners of Turkmenistan. Of which industrial projects accounted for 61.2 percent ($1,684,8 billion).
Turkish, Ukrainian, French, German, Irish and some other countries' companies are major contractors.
Facilities were mainly provided by Ashgabat city administration, enterprises and organization departments of fuel and energy sector like Turkmengas, Turkmenneft state concerns, Ministry of textile industry, Ministry of energy and industry of Turkmenistan along with several other Ministries and organizations of Turkmenistan.
