Textile Committee has signed memoranda of understanding (MoU) with 65 partners comprising trade and manufacturing association and civil society organizations, to strengthen its activities, plan and implement new strategies.

While participating in a program organized by Textile Committee and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Textile Committee Director P Nayak said that these partners will help the committee to manage grassroots level issues.

He also informed that 300 more stakeholders will sign agreements to that effect.

Nayak said that the main goal was to boost manpower and institutional capacities of all stakeholders.

Manufacturers and traders are the most adversely affected segments, so it is essential to revive them by effective rules and regulations.

UN is helping stakeholders to solve problems related to World Trade Organisation by implementing such program countrywide through their network of stakeholders, stated Kailas Karthikeyan of the UNCTAD.
