Gujarat to announce integrated textile policy soon

An integrated textile policy based on 5 F's is being planned to improve the textile value chain, productivity of raw material like cotton and exports in the State of Gujarat.
The 5 Fs will represent the entire textile chain; from farm to fiber, from fiber to fabric, from fabric to fashion and from fashion to foreign land.
As per Chief Minister Narendra Modi Gujarat leads as cotton producing state in the country. He said that the state contributed about 25 per cent to the country's total textile exports.
He was attending a hitech fair 2005 at Bhuj along with Union textiles minister Shankersinh Vaghela.
Vaghela informed that the Central government had sanctioned funds for two apparel parks in the state to boost textile exports."
