Budget 2006-07 presented in National Assembly was little concerned with textile sector, complained representatives of the industry.
However, textiles industry expects the government would mull over some packages to pull it out of its exisiting troubles.
In his budgetary speech, Minister of State did not offer any incentives for textile, especially how to slash the cost of doing business, said Mushtaq Vohra, Vice Chairman of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) and Chairman of APTMA Sindh-Balochistan Zone.
However, Vohra fell short of calling the budget 'disappointing' as he believed that a relief package for textile sector was on the cards.
Prime Minster Shaukat Aziz is aware of issues bothering the textile sector and hopefully, he would take steps for this sector to increase the country's exports, Vohra expressed.
The APTMA Vice-Chairman said relief measures for the textile industry were important so that the industry competes in the international market and the government should facilitate that.
Quizzed on the future investment considering the present situation, Vohra said it would be out of place to speak about it at this juncture.
