Ameen Bandukda, Chairman, SITE Association, Pakistan and Berdibek Saparbayev, Deputy Head of the Chancery of Prime Minister of Kazakhstan have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen bilateral trade and industrial activities.

Though Kazakhstan produces better quality cotton, only 7 percent of its total cotton production is worth value adding due to lack of technical skills.

To improve the standard of cotton, Kazakhstan desires to import technology and expertise from Pakistan as its textile sector is performing well in the global market.

Kazakhstan Government has invited investment in all industrial sectors through joint venture plans, informed Saparbayev.

Wages of workers in Kazakhstan are very low compared to those prevailing in Pakistan, so it would be beneficial for the Pakistani industrialist if they shift their production facility to Kazakhstan, he argued.

Saparbayev also informed members of SITE Association that Special Economic Zone has been established in Kazakhstan with the provision of all infrastructure facilities.
