President Niyazov sets in motion mission to put textile industry on track

Many Turkish companies along with some ministries and establishments of Turkmenistan were invited to the Turkmenbashi Palace at a meeting recently, to discuss issues related to development and improvement of the national textile industry.

While acknowledging contributions of Turkish companies in the progress of its economy, Turkmen President Saparmurat Niyazov expressed his gratitude for their active efforts towards revitalizing this sector of the economy.

Niyazov summarized several priorities to boost trade between national producers and Turkish partners.

He emphasized that the industry has got into critical situation mainly due to the lack of system management and competent marketing.

He drew attention of participant's towards deeply rooted corruption, nepotism and bribery.

The President expressed grave concerns at such practices being prevalent for years now, while the industry could have gathered momentum to steadily increase its capacity.

He urged Turkmen to bring changes by putting on the track of realization of its potentiality, with contemporary facilities and proper utilization of wealthy raw materials.

He recommended for working together with Turkish partners on resourceful schemes of joint work that can offer for relevant mechanisms to ensure full transparency of the sectors activities taking into account the importance of its foreign economic orientation.

President while positively addressing Turkish businessmen persisted to keenly cooperate with the nation.

He reiterated, Turkmenistan is eager to invite best global proficiency for the development of textiles and introduce latest techniques of marketing.
