Permanent Secretary of the Industry Ministry, Jakkramon Phasookvanich has appealed Thai textile companies to be prepared to face tough competition in the international market.
Jakkramon further added that several other countries have benefited more than Thailand in terms of cheap costs of production and lower worker wages.
Due to these factors, Thai textile companies should tighten up and find ways to strengthen their business operations.
On this record he stated that the on-going negotiations for a free trade agreement between Thailand and Japan will offer advantage to Thailand and provide breathrough entry for its textile products in to that country.
Besides, it will provide good opportunity for big ticket international investors to invest in Thailand's textile and apparel industry.
