According to a US report some North Koreans mostly women, are subject to conditions of slavery in Czech-owned textile factories.

Czech factory owners in connivance with the North Korean Embassy in Prague abuse the cheap human labor, as the majority of the female workers who draw minimum wages repatriate money to their families back home via the Government of North Korea run bank account monitored by the local embassy.

Workers are permanently under surveillance by factory guards and are permitted to leave their dormitories only in groups.

Czech police upon investigations did find a few cases but were not ready to accept those on account of any flagrant exploitation or violation of human rights.
