Anti-dumping duties from the US, EU and other countries of the world have forced Chinese textile and clothing industry to mull over for its improvement.

In this connection, Government of China and several textile and clothing associations have jointly undertaken an exhaustive plan to rejuvenate the industry.

Under this plan, Government is to set 144 new standards considering the quality and functionality of materials.

Government will also decide 65 new standards for imports and 79 for exports; at the same time, it will revise 325 standards, which were set before 2000.

To circulate these standards among the textile and clothing industry players, Government will open information windows at several places across the country.
