The nine-member Union Labour Ministry held a conference meet in Shillong, yesterday, where the functioning of Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) was discussed.
Ministry, led by Debabrata Biswas, called for the EPFO to expand its operations in North Eastern states, especially in Meghalaya.
Committee suggested that further studies should be conducted to bring new firms under EPFO.
Finally, the panel concluded that though there was lot that EPFO can and should do, so far its implementation has been satisfactory.
