Government has initiated Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP) based on public-private partnership to make textile companies at par with international standards, informed E V K S Elangovan, Minister of State for Textiles.
Government is considering the proposal to provide lower rates credit to Handloom weavers, added Elangovan.
Scheme implemented by Office of Development Commissioner for Handloom has concentrated on to assist handloom weavers by providing training, product diversification, market access, knowledge about foreign market and export promotion of handloom products to improve lifestyle of weavers, he stated.
