About 15,000 of former textile mill workers came together to sort out the issue of defunct textile mill land in possession with MHADA.
Workers met with the officials of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA).
There are 58 private and National Textile Corporation mills comprising about 600 acres of land.
As per the Maharashtra's textile land redevelopment clause, from 600 acres of land, 50 percent accruing to MHADA is supposed to used for housing mill workers who were on the rolls as of January 1, 2000.
