Vietnam is to attract investment from Japan and other countries, and therefore, Government officials, research organizations asked Japanese investors to advise what they are looking for to invest in country, informed Nguyen Thi Bich Van, deputy head of the Ministry of Planning and Investment's Foreign Investment Agency.

Investors found lack of infrastructure, loopholes in intellectual property rights law, lack of skilled labour, complex custom duty structure, added Nguyen.

Japanese investors also mentioned that Government mainly focused major projects and neglect secondary industry.

Taking this suggestion, Ministry of Industry decided to improve investment environment in secondary industries, which support garment, textile, footwear, automobile and electronics.
