Meeting of Trade Ministers of G-20 and some other selected Ministers called by Brazil's Foreign Minister, Celso Amorim does not foresee revival of the global trade talks, informed Peter Power, Commission's Trade spokesman.

The meeting has been called to analyze the situation post-failure of the talks in July, 2006. US Trade Representative Susan Schwab and the EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson are to attend the meeting, as well.

Power, Mandelson's spokesman laid to rest speculations about the hope of revival of trade talks saying the meeting is merely to come together and will try to understand as to where the process is right now.

He was however quick to add that European Commission (EC) was committed to not leaving the suspension of talks for longer period. It must be remembered that he had refused to entertain a similar invitation from the Australian Trade Minister Mark Vaile saying that his government had said a lot of things about Europe.
