With a liberal industrial policy for boosting trade and industry in the State, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has invited the European Business Group for conducive and good business ventures.

Some of the thrust areas identified are Agro-based and Food Processing, Electronics and IT, Automobiles and Auto Components, Handloom, Hosiery, Textiles, Footwear and Leather Garments.

Companies from European Union (EU) have already set up about 386 industrial units with an FDI of Rs14.70 billion in the State.

The industrial units export to EU a number of items such as readymade garments, cotton yarn or fabrics or made-ups, machinery and instruments etc.

In addition, the state has received proposals for setting up 60 SEZs, of which 37 have been approved in principle by the Centre including the mega SEZ project of Reliance Industries Ltd.

The Reliance Haryana SEZ Project would receive an investment of Rs100,000 crore and generate employment directly and indirectly for more than half a million people.

This project would also add Rs10,000 crore per annum by way of revenue to the State Exchequer.
