Jharkhand Government has in association with Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) invited weavers in the state to get them insured under "Mahatma Gandhi Bunkar Yojna", started on October,02, 2006.
K K Dutta, Joint Director of Ministry of Textile industries in Jharkhand said that the weavers would benefit from scheme with a yearly premium of Rs330.
Dutta announced that Government is going to restart Sanjay Gandhi Cooperative Mill at Irua near Ranchi which is closed since 1993.
He revealed that Government would start Sizing and Weaving plant at the cost of Rs 10 crore and they had already taken possession of 100 acre of land for the purpose.
