Exports turnover may reach $39.5bn, reports MOT

Deputy Minister of Trade, Phan The Rue, recently reported that the Vietnam could earn US $39.5 billion from entire product exports in 2006, representing a growth of 22 percent as compared to 2005.

These statistics were revealed at a Conference focusing on measures for exports in three end months 2006, organized in Ho Chi Minh city on October 11 by MOT.

A report by Pham The Dung, Director of Export Department under MOT revealed that Vietnam's entire exports turnover in the first nine months 2006 reached $29.4 billion, up by 24.2 percent from same period last year, fulfilling 77.8 percent planned target of whole 2006.

As regard to exporting destinations of Vietnamese goods during the period, Oceania stood at top with year-on–year growth of 52 percent, followed by Europe by 33.7 percent, Americas by 33.3 percent and 15.3 percent at Asian region; however a slight drop of 6.4 percent was recorded at Africa.
