Textile & apparel sector in Bangalore's rural district

The BOA has considered 82 proposals for establishing Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in five states, namely, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh, alongwith a proposal from Madhya Pradesh.
Formal approvals for 26 new SEZ projects were given by the high-powered Board of Approvals (BOA) at its meeting recently.
The approval included eight in Karnataka, 16 in Andhra Pradesh and two in Kerala, thus taking the total number of formal approvals to 212 in a wide range of sectors across the country.
The BOA also gave in-principle approval for as many as eight SEZ proposals, including two from Karnataka, one from Chhattisgarh and five from Andhra Pradesh, taking the number of such proposals to 152 at an all-India level.
The proposal from Hinduja Investments Private Limited to set up a SEZ in the textile and apparel sector at Doddamannugudde in Bangalore Rural district in Karnataka State over an area of 100 hectares, has received in-principle approval.
