Govt plans revival of textile industry

Economic Development Minister Trevor Mallard has unveiled Government plans to pump in $1.96 million in a project with a view to make Kapiti-Horowhenua's textile businesses more competitive.

The project named DesignTex will connect lower North Island and will also help them in business expertise and production. The project involves training programmes, develop leadership abilities and connect designers with manufacturers and collaboration within the sector. A business sector is also in the offing.
