Commercial Counselor Nguyen Duy Khien for the US recently advised Vietnam MOT and textile and apparel enterprises on dealing with the risk of being levied market in the coming times, official sources said.
“In order to cope with risk of being investigated and levied with anti–dumping duty for textile and apparel exporting to the US, Ministry of Trade shall find out as soon as possible the proper and effective measures in preventing exports of Made–in–other country goods to the US via Vietnam. It means that the ministry should control strictly issuance of origin certificates of the textile and apparel goods exporting to the US market in order to prevent up–rocketing export volume” the counselor said.
On the other hand, the ministry should create policies complying with WTO's regulations to reduce exports of low–value goods in a bid to prevent forcing the price down below 'Trigger Price' that would lead to investigation for anti–dumping lawsuit, he added.
