US Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, has warned the business executives in Beijing that forgery of industrial goods is a threat to consumer health and safety.

United States' top commerce official demands, in accordance with Washington and the European Union, that China should stop commercial piracies of industrial parts and other goods. This piracy is costing US industry an estimated $2.3 billion a year of lost copyright revenues.

Washington has warned of going to the World Trade Organization with a formal complaint about China's pirates - a dramatic step in international trade diplomacy.
