Rise in inflation due to costlier items

Inflation in the country rose to 5.30 percent mainly due to increase in the price of manufacturing items.
Inflation was 5.09 percent in previous week and wholesale price based inflation was 4.04 percent during the corresponding week last year.
Manufactured products group index increased by 0.2 per cent to 180 points as prices of the textiles, chemicals and machinery increased.
