Recommendations for rise in rebate on textile export

During a meeting of the Standing Committee of NA on textile industry, it was recommended that Government should increase rebate on export and provision of gas on the original prices from 6 percent to 15 percent to compete with other countries in the international market.
The recommendation was given in a meeting of said committee held in Parliament House on Monday under the Chairmanship of Ch Nazir Ahmed Jatt to discuss textile policy and about termination of 2000 textile employees in Faisalabad.
The Secretary M/O Textile Industry briefed the committee on the termination of textile employees of Faisalabad and said that termination of employees was a botch made by media. He revealed that there is an increase in export of textile industry Faisalabad for the period of 2006-2007.
Committee also told Government to find out fact and figures of current crises and to prepare short and long term plans to prevent textile industry from crisis. It also suggested to upgrade machinery in the ginning factories and to improve quality control in the factory.
