Japan offers modern textile machinery

Federal Minister for Textile Industry Mushtaq Ali Cheema while talking to the Ambassador of Japan Siji Kogima said that Government is looking to give more incentives for textile industry so that it can face competition in the global market.

Siji Kogima was invited by the Minister to discuss the matter of Textile Export to Japan. He told that Government is taking various steps like training of unskilled workers of textile sector for the development of textile industry of the country.

Many steps like 5 percent reduction of duty on import of raw material and elimination of sales tax on export oriented textile industry are taken by Government to boost textiles.

In recent times export rate of Japan has been reduced considerably which is affecting textile industry of the country very badly, he added.

He said Pakistan is interested in acquiring modern textile technology from Japan. Japanese Ambassador offered modern textile machineries on competitive price and also showed interest in import of Pakistan textile products.
