Textile Minister expects 25% surge in exports

Textiles Minister Shankersinh Vaghela is expecting 25 percent increase in exports for current fiscal year compared to 2005-2006 by touching $22 billion mark.

Moreover, he foresees a decline in earlier estimated cotton production of 27 million bales to 25 million bales for current fiscal year.

About Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme, he said that Government is waiting for proposal from industry for extension of the scheme.
