Demand to open the cotton route

Textile sector of Pakistan is facing problems. The ban was put on cotton import via land route from India through the Wagha border because of not having proper arrangement of fumigation of cotton.

All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) has sent letter to the Federal Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock (MINFAL) to take immediate action for opening the land route of Wagha border for importing cotton from India.

APTMA insists the Government to give permission for a long-term policy for cotton import via land route of Wagha, whenever this requirement arises.
