Fifth round of talks of free trade deal between the United States and South Korean ended this week in the western states of Montana.

Despite progress in some areas, the negotiators of both the countries remain disappointed.

Chief US negotiator Wendy Cutler and chief Korean negotiator Kim Jong-hoon are of the opinion that a sixth round is set for the week of January 15 in South Korea and a seventh round would probably be needed as well.

In order to make the biggest free trade deal, both the countries are determined to reach a free trade agreement by early next year.

There has been no progress in trade remedies areas such as anti-dumping. South Korea believes that US anti-dumping duties are unfairly applied to its products.
