Kolkata Govt plans textile policy for small scale industries

Kolkata Government is going to plan a textile policy that will facilitate small scale industries to grow.
The Government is expected to appoint a consultant to assist in forming policy.
It is also restructuring the Cottage and Small-Scale Industries Department which will be known as the Department of Micro and Small Enterprise and Textile.
The state's hosiery sector has emerged as one of the leading manufacturer in the country.
The State Government is also considering several other schemes like establishing Textile Park, Hosiery Park, Mini-foundry Park and apparel training institute to train workers.
