Nazim Amer Mehmood told Chairman of Carpet Manufacturers Association Javedur Rehman that land for carpet city will be allotted to carpet industry on priority basis within a year, official sources informed.
He urged association to provide necessary documents and information regarding problems in this matter.
District Government earlier has given notice to shift carpet-cleaning factories outside the city boundaries of Lahore. This is not possible unless carpet city is set up for the industry.
Nazim told Rehman that carpet-cleaning factories can work in the city for one year and after that they have to shift to land provided for carpet city.
