Ministry urges to increase footwear exports to China

Minister of Trade Truong Dinh Tuyen urged footwear industry to increase exports to China, sources informed.

Although China is world's biggest exporter of footwear, its imports stood at US $554 million in 2006.

According to Tuyen, domestic industry produces rubber footwear of good quality at cheaper price, which is supporting sector to capture Chinese consumer market.

In 2006, footwear industry exported goods worth $38 million to China.
