Ministry of Trade (MOT) indicated that US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) may ask for legal documents to avoid illegal shipment of textiles and apparel.

It is anticipated that US may ask for documents such as certificate of origin, bills of lading and certificate of Government on condition of release for export.

These documents will ensure that shipments are according to the rules and quota regulations.

Ministry urged units to maintain all necessary documents and also to keep both Vietnamese and English versions of it.

US is biggest market for domestic manufactured clothes. Last year, industry exported US$2.2 billion of garment and textiles to US.
