Recently, Managing Director of Cooperatives of the Golestan Province's Cotton Growers, Asadollah Pakseresht revealed that next year's budget bill does not contain subsidy for cotton growers.

Till now, there has been no reference of subsidies, which was expected to be included in next year's budget bill.

If the subsidies will not be provided by the Government, high cost of the production will restrict farmers from increasing output.

At present, cotton production of the industry is expected to reach around 65,000 tons.

Even area of cotton farming is also decreasing because of low price of cotton lint, increasing production cost and delay in payment to farmers.
