First round of negotiations between Japan and Australia over bilateral Free Trade Agreement will take place on April 23 and 24, 2007 at Canberra.
Australian Prime Minister John Howard is expected to commence a four-day tour to Japan, this Sunday.
Foreign Minister Taro Aso stressed at the press meet, “We must try to gain maximum benefit for Japan in the negotiations.”
As for his expectations he said, “There are sensitive issues here so it is a bit dangerous to just make a prediction at this stage."
