Industry analysts say that since electricity duties have been raised to 10 percent, the actual tariffs have become 17 percent.
Even the calculations of major textile industry players suggest that the electricity charges that the manufacturers would have to pay total upto not 10 but 17 percent.
Experts claim that the traders would not benefit from 10 percent cut in gas tariffs as the electricity tax has been raised to 10 percent. It all comes to same or infact more as the actual electrical charge is 17 percent.
As for textile industry, 50 percent of the factories run on electricity and rest use gas.
However, textile is going through a tough stage and has demanded immediate withdrawal of this decree.
Another issue that the industry is fighting for is to increase government textile relief package from Rs25 billion to Rs30 billion.
