Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Peru and US is under consideration and is awaiting approval from the US congress.
A study says that if implemented this FTA will generate employment for a total of five million workers in Peru's export industry in next ten years.
The sector currently engages 3.1 million people and over one third (1.3 million) are working in the country's large mining industry.
Agriculture and farming follows in second place with 724,000 jobs and the textile sector comes in third place with 457,000 positions.
A delegation from Peru is expected to tour US urging speedy conclusion of this FTA.
Experts say that US will also benefit economically and politically as the wages as well as job opportunities will increase.
