Shepherds should avail benefits under Janshree Project

BELLARY:
Shepherds have been requested to avail State Government benefits of Janshree Insurance Project, by Animal Husbandry department.
District branch has already started process to enroll members for this project, said Dr N Srirama Reddy, Deputy Director of the department.
Implementing agency of this scheme is Karnataka Sheep and Wool Development Corporation.
People with minimum 10 sheep can insure them. A sum of Rs10 per sheep would be collected as insurance premium.
State Government would pay rest of the amount, said Reddy.
Value of insured sheep will be assessed as Rs1,500 per sheep.
