Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Thailand will be signed by next week during Thai Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont's four day visit to Tokyo.

Thailand's cabinet has approved this deal, which involves reduction or removal of tariffs on various goods exported between the two countries.

Pisan Manawapt, Thailand's chief negotiator on the deal, in a press conference told reporters, "The signing ceremony will take place on April 2 in Tokyo".

Japan remains largest foreign investor as well as top importer for Thailand with trade valued of 1.65 trillion baht (US $44.1 billion) from January-December 2006.
