State Government of West Bengal has prepared its first textile policy with a purpose of building 'Brand Bengal' in textile sector, informed state's textile minister Manab Mukherjee.
After inaugurating a textile exhibition, minister said that, "Government is formulating a comprehensive textiles policy for the development of the sector. The emphasis will be on manufacturing."
He added that the policy will empower the conventional arts like, 'kantha' stitch, Zari-work & needle-work. Moreover, proper utilization of such skills will be helpful in creation of 'Brand Bengal'.
