State Development and Reform Commission (SDRC) Economic Operations Bureau, Deputy Director, Zhu Hong Ren said recently that the export tax rebate adjustment for textile and garment is still under investigation and observation.

The general policy is orientated by the effective measures of Chinese government to reduce the country's trade surplus.

Zhu Hong Ren opined that issues like the time of export tax rebate adjustment for textile industry and the need for this adjustment will be carefully discussed.

Meanwhile, it should also be noted that textiles has been a very important industry employing large number of workers, and serves the interests of cotton growers.

So, the state will evaluate the overall situation prevailing in the textile industry while arriving at final policies.

Zhu also pointed out that textile industry in recent years, improved its competitiveness through indigenous efforts. Sector is further progressing through scientific and technological innovation while creating independent brands.

These powerful measures will assist industry to deal with future challenges and offer competitive edge.
