CBR declares zero sales tax on electricity for 345 textiles & other export units

The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has declared zero sales tax rating on electricity, which is covers 345 registered exporting industrial units of leather, textile, carpets, sports goods and surgical goods industries.
The CBR has issued a notification No. SRO 792 (i) 2005 on Wednesday, stating that zero sales tax rating on electricity consumption in the said exporting industrial units would be with some conditions; the electricity connection should be in name of the registered person and the electricity bill issued by the electricity supplier contains the name and the sales tax registration number of that person.
In case the electricity connection is not in the name of such person, registration number of such a person is mentioned in the electricity bill along with the address of such person given by him in his application for sales tax registration; electricity is consumed only in the make of goods specified in the notification S.R.O 621 (i) 2005 (exporting industrial units of leather, textile, carpets, sports goods and surgical goods industries).
The CBR has notified all the names and sales tax registration numbers of the said 345 exporting industrial units.
